A difference based approach to the semiparametric partial linear model
A commonly used semiparametric partial linear model is considered. We propose analyzing this model using a difference based approach. The procedure estimates the linear component based on the differences of the observations and then estimates the nonparametric component by either a kernel or a wavelet thresholding method using the residuals of the linear fit. It is shown that both the estimator...
متن کاملEfficient Inference in Semiparametric Generalized Linear Models
for Y and Φ nonempty subsets of l. The covariate (X,Z) has an unknown joint distribution G ∈ G, a nonempty collection of distributions. Suppose from now on that the true but unknown parameters are (θ, ρ). We are interested in the efficient estimation of the regression parameter θ in the presence of the nuisance parameter γ = (G, ρ) based on the independent and identically distributed observatio...
متن کاملSemiparametric median residual life model and inference
For randomly censored data, the authors propose a general class of semiparametricmedian residual life models. They incorporate covariates in a generalized linear form while leaving the baseline median residual life function completely unspecified. Despite the non-identifiability of the survival function for a given median residual life function, a simple and natural procedure is proposed to est...
متن کاملEstimation in a Semiparametric Partially Linear Errors-in-variables Model
We consider the partially linear model relating a response Y to predictors (X,T ) with mean function XTβ+g(T ) when the X’s are measured with additive error. The semiparametric likelihood estimate of Severini and Staniswalis (1994) leads to biased estimates of both the parameter β and the function g(·) when measurement error is ignored. We derive a simple modification of their estimator which i...
متن کاملMoment Estimation in a Semiparametric Generalized Linear Model
In this article, we propose to estimate the regression parameters in a semiparametric generalized linear model by moment estimating equations. These estimators are shown to be consistent and asymptotically normal. We present two estimators of the nonparametric part, provide conditions for the existence and uniform consistency, and obtain faster rates of convergence under weaker assumptions.
